Austin, Texas is one of the coolest cities in the country. So it’s fitting that we talk about some of the coolest dog-friendly restaurants Austin has to offer.

Let’s walk through all types of cuisine, all across the city, and all dog-friendly.

The ABGB

The ABGB (Austin Beer Garden and Brewery) is very dog-friendly and offers biscuits and watering stations on its patio. There is plenty of shade from the Texas heat and of course, plenty of cold beers.

Dog House Drinkery Dog Park

The main park area is a 1/2 acre fenced in off-leash dog area with plenty of shade, lights, crushed granite & access to the bar without having to leave the park area. DogHouse has a separate 10,000 square ft off-leash area in the front of the property that is used for adoptions, training, yappy hours, birthday parties & other general use. There is also have a separate area for small dogs (less than 30 pounds) that is connected to the main park area.

The off-leash dog park area is the only area that is membership only but day passes can be purchased for $5.00 per dog. Yearly membership is $75.00 a year. If you have more than one dog the cost of the yearly membership is an additional $5.00 per dog.

Austin Terrier

As you can probably guess from the name, this is an extremely dog-friendly restaurant. The Austin Terrier was launched as a neighborhood restaurant with a vibe that is both family and pet-friendly, featuring a kid’s corner as well as water and free treats for our canine friends on the patio.

There is plenty to keep the adults coming back too, with a great pub atmosphere enhanced by a great selection of rotating craft beers and wines, and now featuring a full bar.

Yard Bar

The kitchen at Yard Bar is serving up the most delicious hush puppies in Austin, craveable burgers, fresh salads. Dining under our shady trees is always cool.

In addition, their 21+, off-leash dog park features a full bar, agility equipment, and bark rangers to keep the play moving safely. Enjoy the park for a day with a drop-in Day Pass, or make it a routine and take advantage of our Monthly or Annual Membership prices.

And finally, the finest local craft beer selection and mindfully curated selection of spirits on Burnet Road. You don’t have to have a dog to come in and enjoy a great beer or cocktail at Yard Bar. That makes this place one of the most dog-friendly restaurants Austin has to offer.

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden

Banger’s is all about being a wonderful place to eat, drink and hangout. Not too rowdy, not too laid back, just a good old fashioned good time. Homemade sausage, craft beer, pig roasts, beef jerky, pickled vegetables, spring days in Texas, Sunday brunch, and all forms of Americana & country music are a few of their favorite things.

This place also really likes dogs, and with an off-leash dog park and a specialty sausage made just for dogs on the menu, I think they like them too.

Hops & Grain

This brewery on the east side of Austin offers a huge selection of awesome beers and even makes dog biscuits from the used grains. They also host yappy hours on their patio regularly.

One thing to keep in mind is that dogs are not allowed in the tap room proper. Drink up!
